Paracelsus (Philip Hohenheim) (1493-1541)

Job: City physician
Personality: Short-tempered, not easily liked
Philosophy: Paracelsus rejected the previous work of Galen and Aristotle. He believed in the macrocosm-microcosm analogy. This was the idea that a human was an exact replica (macrocosm) of the larger world (microcosm). All the parts of the universe were represented within each person. He turned against the idea that "contrary cures" and believed in "like cures like". This meant Paracelsus used the poison which caused the disease to use it in a proper form and dosage
